GOOD to know

General info

A small resource of useful information to help you get the best out of your stay throughout the year at Hotel Coutettaz.

What time can we arrive at Hotel Coutettaz?

Ideally, the earliest time will be 4pm but we appreciate flights and travel plans might mean you arrive earlier than this. If this is the case we will happily welcome you and store your luggage until your room is available.

Do you cater for all dietary requirements?

Our professional chefs cater for all dietary requirements, we just need to know what they are in advance of your arrival.

How central is Hotel Coutettaz?

Hotel Coutettaz is in a fantastic location. We are a 5 minute walk to the Tourist Office which is in the heart of Morzine. However, we are fortunate to be on a quiet road which is 200 metres from the local pistes.

Do you have parking at Hotel Coutettaz?

We have a large private car park right outside Hotel Coutettaz for exclusive use by our guests.

Can you organise child care?

For childcare we recommend Cheeky Monkeys. We have been working with Sharon and her team for many years.

Alternatively the village creche is very good and happens to be only 100 meters away.

Both of these options need to be booked well in advance.

Do you have high chairs and cots?

We can provide both high chairs and travel cots should you require them.

What time do we check out of Hotel Coutettaz?

We ask that you check out of your room by 10am. Again, if your travel plans mean you are not leaving Morzine until later in the day, we will happily store your luggage for you until you plan to leave.

Can I book Hotel Coutettaz exclusively?

Yes, you can and this often happens. We can sleep up to 30 guests depending on the final room arrangements. For a quote please email us.

Can I book just one room?

You can book one room or multiple rooms. It just depends on our availability!

Is there a nearby creche/nursery?

There is a great creche/nursery literally a stone’s throw away from Hotel Coutettaz.

L’Outa has a strong reputation in Morzine and the best thing to do is contact them directly.

Do all the rooms have hairdryers / bath gowns?

Yes, they do.

What is Taxe de Sejour?

This is a local tourist tax which is payable on your departure. The current rate (as at January 2025) is €2.60 per adult (18yrs or older) per night.

Winter info

Here is some useful information about your winter stay at Hotel Coutettaz

What is included in the price during winter?

In the Winter months our prices are quoted on a half board basis and include:

  • A full cooked and continental breakfast
  • Hotel Coutettaz minibus service to and from the slopes in the morning and afternoon
  • Afternoon tea and cakes back at Hotel Coutettaz
  • Canapés before dinner
  • A four course evening meal with wine, followed by coffee and chocolates at the bar
  • Bath robes and slippers provided during your stay
  • Luxury bathroom products by L’Occitane
Can you organise our ski passes?

We can organise your ski passes and issue them from Hotel Coutettaz.

There are two main ski passes to choose from. The Morzine/Les Gets and the full area Portes du Soleil. The first is the local Morzine/Les Gets region which is great skiing but can be limiting if you are strong skiers. If you want to explore and have more of a ski around the region we would recommend the full Portes du Soleil (PDS) pass which covers 650 kms of piste and spreads over 12 resorts several of which are in Switzerland.

How do we get to the slopes?

We offer a morning and afternoon shuttle service during your stay with us. Our drivers will be on hand to load your skis and whisk you off to the best location to start your day in the portes du Soleil.

What is there for non-skiers to do in the resort?

Our guests often ask us what other activities are available for non skiers so we have listed some below for you:

  • Snow shoeing
  • Lovely walks along the river or in the mountains
  • Cross country skiing
  • Ice skating
  • Husky sledding
  • Nordic walking
  • Ski doos
  • Ski joering with horses
  • Ice diving
  • Paragliding
  • Helicopter flight
  • Gym
  • Swimming
  • Aquariaz Water Park
  • Watching the Morzine Penguins the local Ice Hockey team
  • Enjoying the cafes, bars and restaurants in town or on the ski slopes where you can meet up with others in your party for lunch.
Is the Portes du Soleil ski area suitable for all levels of skiing?

The Portes du Soleil is a wonderful ski area suitable for all levels of skiing from complete beginner to backcountry skiers.

What is not included during winter?
  • Airport transfers
  • Ski passes
  • Ski equipment
  • Ski lessons
  • Child care
Can you organise our ski equipment?

If you require ski equipment we recommend All Mountain Rental who will offer you a 20% discount for booking online. They deliver the equipment to Hotel Coutettaz, ensure everything is fitted correctly and pick it up at the end of your stay which avoids all the usual waiting in the actual ski shop.

Can you organise our ski lessons?

For ski lessons we recommend you get in touch directly with the ski schools. They will require payment up front and will want to get a good understanding of your ability and what you would like to get out of your lessons.

What do we need to think about when booking ski lessons for our children?

The main consideration is whether you will base the children in Morzine or Avoriaz. This will determine how much skiing you can do around the whole area.

If the children are in ski school all day and have lunch provided by the ski school then this is less important as you will have a full day to head off skiing yourselves.

If you are planning on meeting the children for lunch and you choose a Morzine ski school then you will likely have to ski in Morzine for the week. If they are based up towards Avoriaz or Les Lindarets you will be able to ski the greater area or into Switzerland and still meet them for lunch if this is the plan.
