About morzine

Where ALL are welcome

An inviting Alpine resort in the Haute Savoie

Discover a place of ROLLING SLOPES and jaw-dropping views. Of adventurous winters and high-octane summers. A place where arms are wide open, where kitchens bustle and glasses clink. A place to be EXPERIENCED, far more than a place to be seen. Skier or cyclist, firm friends or young family, you’re welcome in Morzine; if it’s your first visit, it certainly won’t be your last.

Truly exceptional skiing

Morzine is part of the expansive Portes du Soleil ski domain. Here you’ll find hundreds of kilometres of groomed piste, cross-country skiing, easy-access ski lifts and every kind of slope for all levels of ability. All right on your doorstep. And Coutettaz is at the heart of everything; the moment you step outside, your next adventure begins.

Beautiful Hotel Coutettaz is steeped in tradition and is an absolutely lovely place to stay. Dinner is around a large candlelit table every evening with all the other guests and the many courses are all delicious.”

Every taste, every appetite

There’s no shortage of places to eat and drink in Morzine. The offering is eclectic: expect everything from refined wine bars and eateries to pizza, real ale and all-night party hotspots. You needn’t wander far from the Hotel to find somewhere you love. And during the winter, you needn’t wander at all; our chefs are among the best in the region.

From atelier to supermarché

Looking for a little retail therapy? Head to Morzine’s high street. Fill baskets with pungent cheeses and just-baked biscuits. Watch little eyes widen in the traditional toy shop. Browse Alpine homewares; snuggle up in new winter clothing; find specialist ski equipment. The local supermarkets have all your necessities covered, too.

From the bustling bars to the ECLECTIC shops and eateries, there’s more to Morzine than endless slopes.

At your leisure

Of course skiing and snowboarding are Morzine’s main attractions. But this Haute Savoie resort has plenty more to offer, especially in the summer. Cycling, canyoning, paragliding, hiking, luging; if you loathe sitting still, it’s heaven. And with the Multi Pass, you’ll have complementary access to the area’s ski lifts and swimming complex too.

The food was incredible and the staff were wonderful. Hotel Coutettaz has been so tastefully restored. A truly beautiful place.”

Part of the history

The very first Morzine ski lift was installed in the 1950s. Over the decades that followed, the village has gradually evolved into a sought-after ski destination and summer cycling haven. Prior to life as a resort, however, the area was known for its slate mines. And our Hotel has watched quietly over it all; built in 1771, Coutettaz is Morzine’s oldest standing structure.

An enviable location

While not quite so exciting as the seemingly endless ski slopes, watersports and eateries, Morzine’s location is a real selling point. This Alpine ski village is close to the Swiss border, situated just over an hour from Geneva’s airport and 45 minutes from the city’s train stations. Take it easy; escaping to the mountains needn’t be a logistical headache.

Strap on your SKIS. Jump in the saddle. Trek, climb, paddle, plunge; Morzine is where adventures begin, and memories are made.
